Car Accident

Once you have been into the car accident, dont panic. Even that is your fault. Dont panic. Because who knows the person u hit into is also commit fault.

First, if you are in this situation...

1) Please take the number plate, the series of the car, venue of accident, time, and witness (including the ic number) otherwise the witness is not liable by law and if you have the photo of accident it could be better.

2) Do not panic. Try to contact your nearest family member.

3) Lodge to the nearest police station or Balai polis cawangan trafik according to the place where the accident occured.

4) If the accident only involve damages (not life) do make it in 24 hours. or less u need to pay rm5 per day for the late report.

5) If the victim wants you to settle it outside the station, please take a look to your capasity whether u can pay it or not.

6) or not, let the law settle it. If u totally commit the traffic offence, you just need to pay rm300 (saman) and the victim can claim from the inssurans from the report.

7)or less..if the person do not have the insurans, nasib dialaa...

P/S: Everyone can make the report even he is the one who commit it, or being the victim from the accident. No need to pay anything.

The mentality of the people today is

1) if the person who logde the report, he needs to pay rm300 and only the one who being hit can make the report.

Correction : Everybody can lodge a police report whether he is the victim or the one who caused the accident. Normally if the person needs to pay rm300, he is actually paying for the saman. (maybe during the accident he also contribute to the accident e.g parking in the wrong site)

2) "Let us settle outside the station, no need to go to police station"

Correction : Sometimes, it is better to settle it by law because you will no need to pay as much money or composite as the outside to the victim. You will save a lot by lodge a police report.
